Don't tell anyone. I've developed a secret addiction to Hostess' banana Twinkies. The creme in the center is banana flavored instead of vanilla. Apparently Twinkies originally sported the banana creme, but a banana shortage during WWII prompted a change. Hostess has returned to it's roots by bringing back the banana creme permanently.

It's been about a decade since I've had a Twinkie. They truly are one of those "once every 10 years" kind of food. At least that's what I thought before I sampled the banana version. Now I can't stop myself each afternoon around snack time. It's almost like eating a piece of banana creme pie. The flavor is so close to real bananas it makes you feel like you're having a "healthy" snack. I know it's far from healthy, but it's how I justify the indulgence.

It's not my fault. It's Hostess'. I tried to buy the two pack, but they haven't hit the stores with the new flavor in the two pack. I was forced to take home a 10 pack. I've already pawned some off on DD and my niece and nephew, but the rest call to me each day. Someone did point out that I could save the rest for the next 10 years and they'd still be good thanks to their record setting shelf-life. Oh well. You only live once and at this rate I won't need another Twinkie for the rest of my life.

Yummy I want one. I love bannana anything. I have never seen these. I am going to have to look for them. Where did you find them?

Wal-Mart. Where else? Maybe I can spare one for you. :)
